I believe that your house’s safety is the most important. Not only talking about the house itself but also talking about anything you keep in your house, you place your stuff to make your house more beautiful. Not only to make your house seen beautiful but also to save your very important stuff.

Are you really sure if your house is safety from thiefs?

Whatever you say, I think your house is more safety if there are gates
for your house.

But, if you feel a gate will bother you, I recommend you to try gate
automatic opener system. If you want to go out, the gate will automatically open and close itself when you leave your home.

There are 3 most recommended gate to use. They are Osco Gates, Faac
Gates and Apollo Gates

For Apollo gates i believe no one will not doubt for its quality because Apollo gates have been earned reputation for security and reliability since 1984.

Then for Faac gates you will get the most durable, reliable and the safest
automatic gates and doors.

Last, for Osco gates i think it is better if you visit www.gateoperator.net

Your computer is exposed to viruses? program erased accidentally? computer suddenly hangs after you install something? If you use Deep Freeze, those problems will be prevented.

To use Deep Freeze, your computer should be divided into at least 2 partition. First is partition “master”, for computer systems installation such as Windows OS. The second is partition “secondary” for data, installer and backup. There are some users who use this software, divided their partition to 3 – 4 data / installer / backup. My suggestion, you can do so if your computer have a big memory and fast access hard disk (at least SATA) because the computer system will be slow, especially when loading.

For Deep Freeze you will use your system partition or partitions “master” because this partition is the most often attacked by viruses or having problems with the OS when startup. For partition “secondary” no need to install Deep Freeze, because you do not want to lose your data or back to original position (before changes occurs) when you restart your computer. If your computer is single partition (there is only “C”, no “D”, where “D” is not CD / DVD-ROM or RW), you should not use this software unless you want to change it into 2 partitions using software such as Partition Magic.

One thing is more important, for the password, never forget your password because it will result in fatal. If you forgotten your Deep Freeze password, you will unable to change Deep Freeze setting, and even unable to uninstall it. If you come to this problem, there is software called XDeepFreeze can overcome this problem, but sometimes this can damage your OS.

Deep Freeze is suitable for a computer that is usually run routine software, changes are rarely:

Public computer, which can be accessed by people, such as computers in schools, libraries, banks, government offices and public services.

Computers used for rental, such as Internet cyber cafe and game center.

Home or office computer that used for work, which is often access to the Internet and install a program only for testing, after that it will uninstalled again.

Computer that are often exposed by viruses, that the owner do not want to take a headache to install or format Windows every time.

Computer server that are used to access the Internet

Deep Freeze divided into several types of products. For client and server category, each divided into Deep Freeze Standard and Deep Freeze Enterprise. If your computer for use in home, office or cyber cafe, Deep Freeze Standard is enough for client only. Next info from Deep Freeze offical site:

Deep Freeze Standard is changing the way IT Professionals protect small multi-user environments. Simple, robust, and cost effective Deep Freeze Standard is ideal for computing environments with 10 or less workstations.

The progress of technology has made mobile phones became more diverse and sophisticated. Through a phone, you can, not only make call and sms, you can also access the Internet, take pictures, record a video, check e-mail, even chats.

We all know the importance of data that saved on our phone. It is private, and even confidentially. Therefore, in this article I will share some tips about how to protect your phone data. Here are some tips you can apply to keep your data secure, at least, to minimize the possibility of data theft.

1. Always make sure to check the status of mobile phone connectivity, such as Bluetooth or Infra-Red.

You should never leave those feature active (except needed) because it will open the possibbility of others to enter into your phone. Make sure the connectivity always turned off after used. Then when there is a request to connect to your phone and you do not know who is it, reject it for security reason.

2. Take advantage of security features on your mobile phone.

Generally, mobile phone equipped with one or more of security code to protect it against unauthorized use. This code normally known as PIN (Personal Identification Number) and PUK (Personal unblocking key), which is intended to protect SIM card.

The PIN code is the most commonly used. You can set this PIN code for your own, can also enabled or disabled.

In addition to PIN code, there is also called PIN2. PIN2 code is a PIN code that serves as a second protection layer for your phone. This code works the same as PIN code.

If you enter a wrong PIN code for few times, your phone will usually ask the PUK code. PUK is a code that consists of 8-digit provided by the service provider of your phone.

3. Backup all your phone’s important data to the computer.

If you afraid that the data on your mobile phone stealed, you can backup all of your important data to the computer. The goal is that when the important data on your mobile phone is lost or damaged, you don’t need to worry because the data is already stored in the computer.

4. Do not forget to pull out your external memory such as mobile phone memory card (MMC) or SD card, if the phone will be repaired/serviced.

Often the phone owner forgot that there is confidential data on their mobile, in fact the phone will ’spend the night’ in the service workshop. If this happen, your confidential data may be copied and exploited by workshop owner. Therefore, pull your phone’s external memory before entering phone workshop.

As an information, now technology has been able to re-read all the data contents that used to filled a mobile phone, even if it’s already deleted. As ever announced before, Trust Digital company in McLean, Virginia, United States (U.S.), was successfully re-create the entire SMS and e-mail content on mobile phones. Unfortunately, the companies are reluctant to reveal what software they use.

The President Bush’s former Cyber security consultant, Howard Schmidt, at that time suggest to enter the wrong password 11 times in a row. According to him, it can cause the data on the mobile phone self-destructing.

5. For mobile phone that have camera, do not take picture of your privacy.

The phone has been regarded as an identity and confidential. There is possibility that other people will find ways to exploitated it contents. Therefore, do not use your mobile phone for personal interests that confidential and sensitive. For example, take and store ‘vulgar’ photos or personal video.

6. Do not recklessly lend your phone to other people.

Friends sometimes can be a contender, especially if your friend has a bad intention against you. Important data, whether it’s confidential images or secret video clip, can be copied and spread by your friend. So just be careful.

Hope these simple tips useful.

Perhaps most users, after installing an antivirus, then left the board, or only update it and never take notice the other things. If that’s what happen, antivirus can make the computer’s performance heavier and slowing the scanning process.

Standard setting does not mean the best, and even often computer works very slow or scanning process will be very slow. How to use antivirus software in more effective and efficient way?

Here are some tips:

For Offline User

If your computer is not connected to Internet or rarely connect to the Internet, then there are some things you can do:

Turn off Auto Update features, do manual update with downloading virus database when it connect to Internet.

If there any Anti Spyware or Email Scanner facilities, or other facilities associated with Internet connection, turn it off to reduce memory and CPU usage. If your computer is sometimes connected to the Internet, spyware scan can be done manually, every few days or once a week.

Download virus definition (update) maximum of once a week. Although there is no specific limitation, but more often is better.

For Online Users

If your computer is always online, or often, the few things that can efectively do:

Enable Auto Update, once a day is enough, more often better.

If you have email scanner or anti-spyware facilities, better you activate it, except you using other anti-spyware programs.

Virus Scan Process

The virus scan process on a computer can take quite a long time, for hours if you have a lot of files. To be effective and efficient, you can follow some tips:

Disable Archive scan (compressed file, such as zip, rar, cab, etc), except you have plenty of time to scan. Because if this enabled, the scan process can be very long. Besides, if there is virus in the zip / archive file, it is not harmful as long as the file inside is not run or executed.

Avoid direct settings to delete / heal / remove a file that is considered as a virus, it is better to select Quarantine (Move to Quarantine) or rename. Unless you already sure that the file is a virus, not a document or program that infected by virus.

If you have option to scan certain files / options (smart extensions) and all files, better select smart extensions, scan will be much faster.

For Scheduler Scan (Scan automatically each time), make sure that is set in the time when the computer is rarely used, or just non-active / disable the antivirus and scan manually. Because sometimes we do not know that antivirus doing scan which can take a very long time, causing the computer works very slow.

When scanning, you should not run other programs, especially the heavy one. Also make sure to turn off the screensaver if you want to leave your computer.

General Optimalization

Check your Virus Vault (Virus quarantine). If have too much content, remove the real virus or files that is not used again. If many files are the same size, possibily it is a virus, so just remove it or leave one.

Activate Report facility, and save its report in a folder that is easily searchable.

Always enable Resident Shield / Guard, as it always monitor the files every time.

If not important, avoid using 2 or more antivirus simultaneously.

If you have any other tips of anti-virus usage, please give your opinion by commenting below, to complement this article.

The circulation of fake sites to search victims on Internet is increasing. The criminals seems never stop to do the sites plagiarism to the users who have sensitive data. The institutions like banks often gives warnings about this. Even so, caution from the users is required so that the fraud can be avoided.

Here are 8 ways to prevent of stealth-actions through the usual fake sites:

Always type the complete URL address for a site you’re heading on the browser. Be strict, although only one letter different, you can be sent to a fake site.

Never tell your user ID or PIN to other person. Even for your bank staff where you have account. Because, generally Bank should never ask your PIN number for any reason.

Don’t easy to believe emails contains announcement that your Bank will close your account or your ID if you don’t reconfirm your personal data. Make sure about the announcement validity with contact your Bank first and do not reply or click any link on that email.

Do not easy to follow the suggestion to make a transfer to a particular account, with the goal of getting the sweepstakes prize. You should find the complete information by contacting the bank directly.

The fake page site nearly the same with the official site. Even the appearance is sometimes twin. However, if you see exactly the differences, you will find the URL from the address or domain are different.

Another thing that different is in the word ‘http’ and ‘https’ in the URL. Suffix ’s’ in the’ http ‘indicates that the site is ’secure’, because the technology is protected by data encryption as Verisign SSL.

Although the fake page shown the ‘Verisign Secured’ logo. For users, of course it is difficult to different them. The main thing that can be used as validity criterion of a e-banking sites is the ‘https’, and on the bottom right of the pages are also shown a locked padlock’s image.

Better to ensure the information directly. Contact the customer service, ask for the information validity before you become a victim of cyber criminals.

Password is a way to secure a computer system. Computer system here can be an application, database or operating systems. Therefore determining password should not be indiscriminate and should consider some certain things. Password must be made by considering some of the following: At least the password character length is 7 (seven) characters. You can also create a longer password for more secure. Here are some tips:

Use at least one (1) symbol character on your password characters row.

If your system apply password history, then make sure your new password is always far different from the previous password.

Your password should not contain a name or username.

Do not use words commonly used in password character. This includes the words taken from dictionary, encyclopedia, etc.

Some examples of strong passwords, as follows:

A4&$Jhi]

3k>i%UA

O@u#5nQ

Did you know?

Password is actually the weakest protection in a computer system. Therefore choosing a strong password is a must. Why? Because password cracking tool today increasingly became more sophisticated in it way to crack the passwords, plus the computer performance that used in the password cracking also became better. Password that previously needed a week to cracked, now only need a few hours only.

Crack password software usually using three kinds of approaches: intelligent guessing, dictionary attacks, and automation that tries to use a characters combination. If given enough time, the automated method can crack any password. But if the password very strong, it will require a very long time to solve.

Additional notes:

To avoid such keylogger programs (programs that record keyboard typing), you can change your password input pattern. Here’s how:

For example your password is 12345

How to type is you input first the number 45, move your mouse cursor to the front, then type 123

Alternatively’s more complicated is type 5 first, continue to press the ‘home’ button on your keyboard, and type 4 and press the ‘home’ again, after that move the cursor to the front and type 123.

Keylogger generally do not record the key ‘home’, ‘end’, ‘insert’, so you can pair it or create a new variation that will confusing the password thief.

This is quite complex but effective to prevent the password cracking. In addition, enter your password first, then user id. The password thief will always think you enter your user id first before password. If you do that, you will be safe when the theft occurred with a keylogger.

A Trojan virus named Koobface disrupt user activity on social networking site, Facebook, some time ago. Now, according to ScanSafe, Koobface has spread to other social networking sites. Koobface is a “message-generator” trojan, sending message to friends on social networks. It has been infecting Facebook’s, spreading via messages that told users to click a link that contains malware. Once a user click the link, then the user will be redirected to sites that contain malware, and then the users has already infected. Infected users will be very risky towards identity theft.

ScanSafe reported that the Trojan Koobface system has been infecting Bebo application, and will soon find other social networking sites such as Friendster, MySpace and BlackPlanet. “Users who click the link that contain Koobface Trojan will be greeted with a message that directs users to update their Flash Player to see a ‘video’. However, no actual video there or not necessary to update Flash player because all of that is only to get users sympathy so that Koobface will be more easily to install Trojan and infecting users system.” quoted Mary Landesman, senior security researcher at ScanSafe.

ScanSafe estimates that account used to block Koobface malware, although now only around 1 percent, but its development more quickly. “Suggestions, do not click link on suspicious or unexpected email, although the email is received from someone you known.” Landesman added.

Today the viruses not only infecting a PC or notebook, it started to infecting cell phones too. Cell phones that have a download facility and application installer commonly became the main target for the viruses. The viruses spread to those expensive cell phones in the following common way that should be known by cell phones user:

Via BlueTooth Connection

Cell phones that have a data-exchanging facility like Bluetooth will need more attention. Although the Bluetooth is ease the cell phones usage, it presence became a new threat because this is the main way that the viruses spreading from a cell phones to another. For example, the first cell phone virus, known as cabir A. This virus spread to other cell phones that connect via Bluetooth of the infected cellphones, it happens when the BlueTooth connection is active and recognized by other cell phones.

Via Internet Connection

Just like what happen to computers, Internet could also became way for viruses to infect the cell phones. You can say, opening the unknown e-mail from your cell phone, downloading ringtones, pictures, or some applications from the site. Just like on the computer, many cell phones infected by viruses from games site and porn site. So be careful.

Via MMS

One more way that viruses could infect cell phones is via MMS. If your cell phones can receive a MMS message and run what is sent inside it, your cell phones have potency to be infected. MMS not only could used to send a multimedia message, but application too. If a virus application installed, the virus will spreading fast.

Via External Flash Memory

If a cell phone viruses stay at computer, it possible the viruses move to cell phones via external disk. Be careful when you copying data from computer to cell phone memory.
