When computer startup, and can’t enter to Windows and displays error like ‘dll not found’ or just a ‘blue screen’, this may be caused by many things, among of it:
- There are Windows operating system files that have accidentally erased
- There are viruses, spyware or trojan that ‘loading’ when the computer startup
- There is a broken file (driver), that failed when read by Windows
- There is damage on the hardware, especially on the computer memory or hard disk
- Windows operating system is broken or not installed completely
- There are incorrect / modified BIOS settings
How to check it:
- Startup using ’safe mode’ (press F5 when the computer want to enter to Windows, select ’safe mode’). If computer successful enter to Windows it means that there is a ‘loading’ which can not be read correctly by Windows. Turn off the ‘loading’ by using ‘msconfig’ at the startup (call it on start> run> msconfig)
- If computer can not go to Windows, the easiest way is repair Windows. Enter the Windows installation CD, change BIOS for startup via CD / DVD-ROM, after installation enter to install Windows, choose repair Windows. You can re-install Windows to the new folder or format hard drive if repair Windows is failed.
- Make sure you didn’t change the BIOS settings before. if you changed it, return it as first, or if you forgot select option ‘Loading BIOS default’.
- If all above steps fail, there is the possibility of damage to your hardware. Damage is generally located on the memory and hard disk. VGA and mainboard may be damaged, but the probability is very small.
Note: The VGA card driver’s damage can also cause this problem. You have to startup in ’safe mode’ then uninstall the damaged VGA driver first, and re-install the correct VGA driver when able to enter Windows normally.
