There are thousands of add-ons for your Firefox browser available on the internet, which is sometimes confusing us to choose which one is good and suitable for our usage. In this article, let me mention some of good-known add-ons especially for those who concern on web developing. This article will tell you a short-list of add-ons with short explanation and of course links to download it, for your Firefox browser to help you and ease you on working on web development.

1. Web Developer. As it name, this add-on has a complete feature that you’ll find useful, shortcuts to speed up your works. It’s a most-recommended add-on for web-developer for their Firefox browser. So make sure you install it on your browser and try the entire feature.

2. Firebug. This add-on will integrate itself to your Firefox browser and provide tools to work on web programming. It will enable you to edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, or JavaScript on the web pages you’ll face. 3.  Pencil. Add-on pencil will very useful to create web page or program application appearance. Compared with other pay-to-use application, this free extension has a light-weight size and many rich of feature that will help you on webpage design, application, etc. Some of features are:

4. ColorZilla. With ColorZilla we can get the color data in RGB numbers by point our cursor to certain part on the webpage. We can also zoom and measure the distance between a spots to another spot accurately. We can save the most-used colors and the basic colors (palette) as a special list. There is also DOM Spying feature to get vary information about DOM element fastly and easy.

5. JSView. As we all know, almost all browsers today has provide the “view source” tool, to load the source code of a web page.  But all of them, no one can show the source code of the webpage that the file has been separated on another folder, for example, the CSS file. And the bad news is most sites today use external CSS or JavaScript. JSView can carry out that problem; it will display a “SS” icon (CSS/Stylesheet), “JS” (JavaScript), or both when you visit a webpage if on the source code there is a link pointed to those external file. 6. Text Formatting Toolbar. This addon will display a toolbar that enable you to execute the text formatting in BBCode (Bulletin Board), HTML, or Wikipedia. Very suitable for you who maintain a blog/site, writing in Wikipedia, active in a forum that follow the commonly BBCode formatting. 7. Total Validator. This add-on will help you to validate the accessibility (WCAG, US-508), broken link, spelling from 5 languages and take the webpage screenshot using 25 type of browser for Windows, Linux, and OS/X.

8. FireFTP. It’s a FTP client to provide FTP access directly from your Firefox browser. FireFTP also provide some feature like directory compare, directory synchronization, SSL encryption, search and limits the search result on a directory, checking the sent file integrity, remote editing, drag & drop, file hashing, and many more. You don’t even need external FTP client.

9. View Formatted Source. Displaying the formats and programming code with full-colors and additional information for every CSS elements. We can see exactly which CSS code that effect certain elements. These command will be displayed by it file name and the line number. We can hide/show every element block (div, span, table, tr, td, etc).

10. Link Checker. Just like it name, this add-on did it jobs very well. If you need a fast way to check if there is any error on links on a web page, then you will need this. It will check the validity of every available links and give it colors sign to differ which one is error and which one is not (red and green color block).
